Systematics
ALPHA-VISION®Killcards uses Microsoft Access 2003 (Version 11.6568.6568 SP 2) and VBA.
The Program is based on two Microsoft Access databases:
- Killcard_Runtime.mdb:
Holds all relevant project data. During runtime only this MDB is used.
- Killcard_Work.mdb:
Engineering tool to edit Killcard_Runtime.mdb, not necessary for runtime.
Note:
During runtime the DCS system always accesses the "Killcard_Runtime.mdb"
that is registered as
ODBC data source.
Installation of the Killcards Engineering Tool
- If this is a new installation go ahead with paragraph ‘ Installation of ALPHA-VISION
®Killcards’
- If a version of ALPHA-VISION
®Killcards is already installed, go ahead with ‘Update of ALPHA-VISION
®Killcards‘
Update of alpha-vision Killcards
Before an update is run, the installed version has to be uninstalled by
the use of Uninstall_Killcards program
A message box appears regarding the user data of the project. If you want
to keep the user data (Killcard_Runtime.mdb), click "Yes".
If this is a new installation go ahead with paragraph ‘ Installation
of alpha-vision Killcards’ If you chose to keep your data it’s a
good idea to rename “Killcard_Runtime.mdb” or move it to a save
place after uninstallation is finished.
Now follow the instructions in the next paragraph.
Installation of alpha-vision Killcards
Start the installer "AV-xx.xx.xx.xx-KILLCARDS.exe".
During installation a new sub-folder "killcards" is created in the chosen
installation directory, containing the Killcard_Work.mdb and a Killcard_Runtime.mdb.
Note:
If the installer finds a Killcard_Runtime.mdb in the chosen "killcards"
folder, a message box is shown to decide, wether the existing Killcard_Runtime.mdb
should be kept or overwritten by an empty one.
If you did not deselect the option 'shortcuts' when installing Killcards,
in the Windows Start menu a folder "Vision/Killcards" has been created with links to:
- the "Killcard_Work" database
- the uninstaller
Note:
At start-up the Killcards_Work.mdb always linkes up to the
Killcard_Runtime.mdb which is in the same "killcards" directory.
To be able to test the created Killcard_Runtime.mdb, DCS must be
installed und the Database copied to registered location.
se also: ODBC data source.
