Killcards

SUMMARY

In order to access the ALPHA-VISION®Killcards functionality during DCS (Damage Control System) runtime, you need to install the Killcard_Runtime.mdb as ODBC data source.
This Killcard_Runtime.mdb must have been filled with the room data from the DCS project by use of the Killcards_Work.mdb. See Killcards systematics, functionality and editing for further information.

Installation of Killcards runtime

During runtime only the Killcare_Runtime.mdb is used.
There is no prescribed path, the Killcard_Runtime.mdb may be copied and stored in any folder.

Registering Killcards_Runtime.mdb as ODBC data source:
To register the Killcards_Runtime.mdb you have to manually add an entry under
Start->Settings->Control Panel->Administrative tools->Data Sources (ODBC)->System-DNS.



With the "Add..." button add a "Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)".



After pushing "Finish" a dialogue is displayed in which you can select the path to the database.



Note:
The "Data Source Name:" has to be "Killcards".
With the "Select" button choose the path of the Killcards_Runtime.mdb that you want to use (default: \vision\killcards\Killcards_Runtime.mdb). Confirm your selection with the "OK" button. You should now see the following dialogue:



Press "OK" to finish the registration, the Killcard_Runtime.mdb is now ready for use with ALPHA-VISION®AvDCS.
