SUMMARY

This document describes the use of the dialogue AbDbf2XmlGui.
With this dialogue files with the extension .DBF can be converted to XML and files with the extension .DBF.XML can be converted back to DBF.

PREREQUISITES

• To open this dialogue, please start AbDbf2XmlGui.exe

Entry	Type	Description / Example
DBF -> XML		If that option is selected only files with the extension ".DBF" can be converted to ".DBF.XML". Any other file extension leads to an error message.
XML -> DBF		If that option is selected only files with the extension ".DBF.XML". can be converted to ".DBF". Any other file extension leads to an error message.
Directory		Press the Directory Button. Select the directory from which all the files with the extension ".DBF" or ".DBF.XML" should be converted.
File		Press File Button. Select a ".DBF.XML" File or a ".DBF" File to convert.
Convert	other	Press Convert Button. The selected file or the files in the directory are converted. After conversion the file is saved in the original Directory .
Recursive		checked: Subdirectories are converted recursively. unchecked: Only files in the selected Directory are converted. undefined:
Preserve deleted records		checked: After converting, the deleted records will be preserved. unchecked: After converting, the deleted records are discarded. undefined:
Remove leading and trailing whitespace		checked: After converting, all leading and trailing spaces in each field are removed. unchecked: After converting, all leading and trailing spaces in each field are kept. undefined:
Leave output windows open		checked: After conversion the output window remains open. unchecked: After conversion the output window is closed. undefined:
