Compatibility and functional scope

The ALPHA-VISION® SoftPLC7 Program can be switched to be compatible to SIMATIC S7-300 or SIMATIC S7-400. In the scope of delivery DLLs are included which may substitute the system-modules.
A special C++ interface offers the opportunity to substitute any original S7-modules by DLL-functions.
Connection to peripherals or data blocks is realised via the same mechanism.

System requirements

The program was developed and validated on Windows NT and Windows 2000 platform.
The system configuration should meet the following criteria.

Performance

Existing STEP7 programs can be ported to SoftPLC7.
The application runs as an independent process on a PC.
The SoftPlc7 is capable of being instantiated.

In average, a converted STEP7-program on SoftPLC7 runs remarkably faster than on an original PLC. Using consequently high-level language to replace various modules may increase performance again.
Using the Debug-Interface a download speed of 4 average-sized modules per second is reached.
The execution time can be measured by using the Performance-Counter.
